EV & Flow: The Weekend Rolls In

Written By Courtney Hartmann Tisa

New Year’s Eve is upon us, and we can’t believe how quickly 2016 flew by! It’s been a wonderful year in San Diego, a fantastic time within our EV community, and we can hardly wait to see where a new year will take us. Our residents are the best, and we’re so fortunate to be part of the East Village neighborhood.

To see the year out in style, there will be celebrations happening all over the county, but why leave downtown if you don’t have to? Nearly every block will have a party and a way to welcome 2017 with friends and neighbors. Here are a few choices to add to the list, but don’t wait too long to secure your tickets. Events are selling out fast!

  • 5th Annual Black & White Party - Renaissance (formerly W San Diego) - A four-room, four-DJ party with a premium open bar from 9:30 PM - 1:00 AM.
  • NYE 2017 - A New Year's to Remember - Don Chido - An open dance floor and free tequila shot at midnight are part of this restaurant’s NYE’s celebration.
  • DJ Shadowman - Florent Restaurant - Two levels of partying starts with dinner with a special menu by Executive Chef Brad Hightow.
  • Big Night San Diego - Hilton San Diego Bayfront - Ten party areas, eight dance floors, and food and drinks included for one of downtown’s biggest soirees.

No matter where the night takes you this NYE, stay safe and let us be the first to wish you a happy 2017!

Weekend Happenings

The year ends on a high note with several events happening over the final few days of the year. The incomparable Mannheim Steamroller makes a stop for a special performance as part of Broadway San Diego this week. Master piano man, Jim Brickman, also has a tour date nearby at Balboa Theatre this Friday.

If you’re looking for some laughs, the American Comedy Co. hosts Jay Oakerson, who’s been a regular guest on Comedy Central and has appeared on shows like Louis, Inside Amy Schumer, and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

Then the party really begins with DJ Snake kicking things off at the Valley View Casino Center as part of the three-day OMFG! NYE 2017 festival. Other DJs and artists performing include Slander, Bro Safari, Brillz, and Jack Beats, among many more.

With only a few more days left in the year, find something that truly brings you joy and make these final hours of 2016 count.

For last year’s words belong to last year’s language

And next year’s words await another voice,

And to make an end is to make a beginning.
